On Tuesday I was thinking how totally awesome it would be if there was a major terrorist attack. I mean, except for the part where lots of people would die and we would launch a poorly planned war against people who had nothing to do with the attacks. But aside from that, wouldn’t it be funny if people talked about “6/6/6,” in the same manner they speak of “9/11” today? And events would be dated as pre-6/6/6 and post-6/6/6. And imagine the number of people who would believe the attack signaled the end of the world because of the date. It would be deliciously chaotic. Oh well. Maybe in a hundred years the next 6/6/6 will be more interesting.
PS: I do know that the actual date was 6/6/06. But you know the event would quickly come to be known as 6/6/6.

Hey. Usually I just lurk to keep up with how you and Steph are doing or to see what crazy thoughts have crossed your mind. However, although I completely see what you were trying to say with this post, I still find it utterly disturbing that the words ‘totally awesome’ and ‘major terrorist attack’ could have been used in a single sentence...
You need to come up with a sarcasm tag in html. In general, I use bold and/or italics to emphasize something, so when I first read your comment, I was like, “Oh no he didn’t!!!” (ya know, with a totally Latina accent and all...). Probably a lame idea, but it would so make things easier to read and comprehend the meaning.
Hey, do you remember when you told me that you were kinda worried about May 5, 2000? Can you remind me what had been predicted about that date?
Anyway, back to lurking...

Well.. I figured the over-the-topness of the first sentence would imply sarcasm. Besides, I clarified that I didn’t think that lots of people dying would be awesome. :)
May 5, 2000... excellent memory... that was the date that the sun, Mercury, Venus, Earth, the moon, Mars, Jupiter, and Saturn were all in (more or less) a straight line. I had seen a show on Fox in like fifth grade that said that this would pull the earth out of orbit and cause a polar shift leading to world catastrophe. I couldn’t load the NASA page about it, but I could load the Google cache of the page. That page has links to a couple other pages on the topic.
Also, the planetary alignment had something to do with the plot of the Tomb Raider movie.
