It’s hard to believe it, but Emma turned a year old on Sunday.  She is now walking like a pro.  There are two new photo albums available: miscellaneous photos of Emma over the last three months, and Emma’s first birthday party.

And if that’s not enough, I’ve got three videos for you.  The first one shows Emma’s progress in learning to walk over the past few months.

Next, we have Emma’s first experience with birthday cake.  She didn’t like it very much!  I’m sure that’ll change over time.

And lastly, we have a video of Emma opening presents.  She got practice at this last Christmas, but now she’s really good at it!

It’s a satirical news story from The Onion, about a video game called “Close Range.”  I would summarize it more, but I think it’ll be funnier for you if I don’t.

I’m now tweeting.  You can follow kipthegreat on Twitter if you want to see what I’m up to.  So far I haven’t done much tweeting.  It just seems weird to use Twitter when I don’t have a Blackberry or iPhone.  Or maybe I just don’t get it yet.  I mainly signed up because my screen name was still available. :)

Just a quick note for those of you who don’t follow me on Twitter or Facebook: I have accepted a new job at Verian, a small company based in Charlotte (near where I used to work) that has remained profitable even in the economic downturn.  I’ll be a “Programmer Analyst,” which is their way of saying I’ll be programming.  My manager will be a guy I worked with at Dassault (and, in fact, I don’t think I’d have found the job if it weren’t for his recommendation).  This is great news for us! :)

I’ll be starting on May 5, so Stephanie, Emma, and I are headed to Myrtle Beach Monday morning for a quick vacation while I have this last week off.  Assuming our resort isn’t on fire, of course...
